Oshki Anishnawbeg Student Association
The Oshki Anishnawbeg Student Association is an Anishnawbeg culture driven organization. Although OASA members focus on advocacy towards Aboriginal Students, we include the entire student body in our efforts.
The OASA structure currently consists of a President, Vice President, and Director of Culture, Director of Programming, Director of Communications as well as a SUCCI Representative. OASA is involved in various committees throughout the college which include College Planning Committee, Academic Council, Negahneewin Council, SUCCI Board of Directors and Chaplain Advisory Committee. OASA hosts 4 feasts as well as bi-weekly lunches and student focused events throughout the academic year. The OASA lounge provides a sense of community and a place for students to take advantage of our resources. OASA elections are held from February until March for returning students.
The OASA Logo represents a generation of people who are committed to creating a better quality of life for the future. OASA is operated by students of Confederation and Negahneewin College. OASA is directly affiliated with and accountable to Confederation and Negahneewin College as well as SUCCI.
OASA offers a student bursary of $300 called “Giinisidynago”. The word “Giinisidynago” in the Ojibwa language means “To be recognized”. This award is granted to an Aboriginal student who is a positive role model for other Aboriginal students by demonstrates active involvement in college activities and maintains a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.

OASA provides leadership and advocacy that effectively address the best interests of Indigenous, Canadian and International student needs and priorities in post-secondary education.

We believe in providing an environment that is community-based, welcomes diversity and encourages sharing of Indigenous intellectual and cultural traditions.
We practice consensus and transparency in all decision making. We advocate in the best interests of all learners.
We promote student leadership, healthy living, and learner success. We nurture existing relationships and develop partnerships within the college and throughout the community.
We are accountable to all learners, Negahneewin and Confederation College as well as the Student Union of Confederation College.
