IT'S ABOUT RESPECT.

The Respect Campaign is a grassroots initiative that began in September, 2006.  Targeting students, faculty and the college community at large, the Respect Campaign is comprised of a number of programs and strategies meant to raise awareness of how people should treat one another.  In 2006, a learning guide was distributed to all faculty and staff which highlighted ideas to help students do more effective group work, to explain and reinforce the value of diversity and to link behaviour and attitudes in the College with that demanded in today’s workforce.  In September, 2007 the Respect Campaign developed an orientation resource to help faculty explain the key rights and responsibilities that students have, all with a "respect" focus.  In addition to providing participants with a handout package containing samples (buttons, lanyards, posters) the workshop session will summarize and analyze the progress of the campaign's first year (we have some impressive stats) and outline the exciting transitions experienced (particularly the Student Union's substantial investment) and strategies delivered (like the Respect in Action Lunch and Learn Seminars) in our second year
