VARSITY GOLF
Information Meeting: Monday, September 14th, 5:00 p.m., Shuniah Board Room A219
Coach: Gloria Bourque
Tryouts: Tryouts will take place at a local city course and will involve a specific number of rounds of golf.
Practices: Practices will occur at city courses and possibly a round at Whitewater.
Competition Schedule: A team of 4 golfers and one coach will travel to the OCAA Championships scheduled for October 5th - 7th, 2009 at the Lochness Links hosted by Niagara College, Welland, ON.
VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING
Sign Up Meeting: Tuesday, September 15th,
5:00 p.m., Shuniah Board Room A219
Coach: John Garland
Tryouts: Runners will compete in several local runs, with team selection occuring about 2 weeks prior to the Championships.
Practices: Set team practice times will be established by the coach at the information meeting
Competition Schedule: A team of 4 runners and one coach will travel to the OCAA Championships which will be held October 31st, 2009 in Windsor, ON hosted by St. Clair College.
VARSITY MEN’S INDOOR SOCCER
Information Meeting: Wednesday, September 16th, 5:00 p.m., Shuniah Board Room A219
Coach: Nick Lento & Assistant Coach: Dom Barbeiro
Tryouts: 2 or 3 tryouts will take place at an outdoor field or the Sports Dome. Tryouts dates will be established by the Information Meeting.
Practices: In addition to weekly city matches, the team will usually practice once a week.
Competition Schedule: Team will play weekly in the Sports Dome Men's City League. The league usually runs from early October to late March.
A team of 12 players and coaching staff will travel to the OCAA CW Regional Indoor Championships. The Championships are hosted by Conestoga College and will take place March 8th -10th 2010 in Toronto (Vaughan) at the Ontario Soccer Association Indoor Facilities. If the team places first or second in the regional tournament, the team will travel to compete at the Provincial Championships March 25th & 26th, 2010 also in Toronto, ON.
WOMEN’S INDOOR SOCCER
Information Meeting: Thursday, September 17th, 5:00 p.m., Shuniah Board Room A219
Coach: Cosimo Valente
Tryouts: 2 or 3 tryouts will take place at an outdoor field or the Soccer Plex. Tryouts dates will be established by the Information Meeting.
Practices: In addition to weekly city matches, the team will usually practice once a week.
Competition Schedule: The team will play weekly in the Thunder Bay Women's Soccer Club at he Sports Dome. The league usually runs from early October to late March.

Information Meeting: Tuesday, September 29th,
5:00 p.m., Shuniah Board Room A219
Coach: Don main & Ron Fearon
Tryouts: Tryouts will occur in October. Dates for the tryouts will be established at the Information Meeting.
Practices: Teams will have several practices, with interplay between the teams and exhibition play with other teams.
Competition Schedule: Teams will have several bonspiels throughout the season. Team members are expected to play in local leagues whereever possible.
A Maximum of two teams (1 men's, or 1 women's or 1 mixed) with 2 coaches/managers will travel to the OCAA Provincial Curling Championships. The championships are scheduled for February 18th - 21st and will be co-hosted by Sault College & Algoma University. |
